The Destitute Animal Shelter is a small independent charity covering Bolton & Surrounding areas. Every year, we take in around 170 dogs & cats who have been found straying, abandoned, abused or neglected and some are in a terrible state, physically and emotionally. With the help of our wonderful staff, volunteers and supporters, we can give these deserving dogs a second chance in life. We never put to sleep a healthy dog or cat. we offer the best veterinary care to all the dogs & cats who come into our care, whether routine or more serious. When our dogs & cats are ready, we find them loving new homes. Some are in such a bad way that they can never be rehomed, so they stay with us for the rest of their lives and get all of the love they need or we run a foster scheme where by you look after the elderly/ill dog or cat and we pay the vets fees.
